CalFire’s top official stating we need to stop approving projects in the CalFire designated highest risk fire hazard areas. Somehow CALFIRE San Diego/San Diego County Fire Authority’s chief Tony Mecham did not get the memo as he continues to approve projects in Very High Fire Severity Zones with major variances (such as waiving secondary egress requirements at Harmony Grove Village South where the developer wrote in their EIR they would help offset a $2 million per year operating deficit for an existing station).
